Limnos Organic Wines
The company I. Savvoglou-P. Tsivolas, with the distinctive title Limnos Organic Wines, was founded in 2002 to produce and trade quality organic wines and spirits .
It aims to exploit the rich varietal potential of Limnos, exploiting privately owned vineyards, as well as vineyards of cooperating producers.
It was founded by Yiannis Savvoglou Chemical Engineer - Oenologist, with many decates of experience in the PDO zone of LImnos (Moschato of Alexandria and Limnio) and Pantelis Tsivola with studies in Economics and Business Administration and extensive experience in wine trading business in Greece and worldwide.
The company's ambition is to highlight mainly the charismatic Muscat variety of Alexandria, producing - in a state-of-the-art winery - in addition to dry aromatic wines, a series of fine sweet wines and other special products, in a limited number of bottles.

The Winery
Our state-of-the-art winery is located in the wine-growing region of Mavrampelia, approximately two kilometers outside the town of Myrina in Lemnos. In this, respecting tradition and utilizing our scientific knowledge and many years of experience in the wine sector, we produce high quality organic wines, exclusively from organically grown grapes, aspiring to make our products another worthy ambassador of our island over time.
Our visitable state-of-the-art winery and distillery is monitored, controlled and certified by the Organization for the Control and Certification of Organic Products D.H.O. This organization monitors, controls and certifies the organic cultivation of all the vines from which the raw material comes and grants the corresponding Product Certificates.
Traffic
The winery can be visited daily from 11:00-14:00, afternoons and weekends by appointment. During the visit, there is a guided tour of the winery premises, a presentation of the production process and the bottling of the wines. This is followed, in a pleasant, specially designed space, by a tasting of the products produced and presentation of audio-visual material.
(In the near future, it will be possible to visit and take a tour of the estate under construction.)
The Vineyard
The producers Savvoglou - Tsivolas exploit a total of approximately six hundred and fifty acres of vines (privately-owned and in co-operation with other wine growers), which are located in the areas of Agios Dimitrios, Kaspakas, Sardes, Dafni, Plaka, Kontopouli and Kaminia. The main cultivated varieties are Muscat of Alexandria and Limnio as well as the Aegean varieties Assyrtiko, Fokiano. The vines are monitored and controlled on a permanent basis by a scientist agronomist and oenologist, as well as by the Organization for Control and Certification of Organic Products D.H.O., which certifies the organic cultivation method and grants the corresponding Product Certificates. The privately owned vineyard, located at MAURAMPELIA, near the winery, is under restructuring. There are also privately owned vines of great age in the area of Kaminia in the southeastern peninsula of Lemnos. In the immediate plans is the enrichment of the vineyard with other varieties, in the estate under construction in the place of Rodania, which will be open to the public for visits and accommodations as part of an agro-tourism program.
